Doris Helen Lenten

CALUMET - Doris Helen Lenten, 61, a resident of Calumet Waterworks road in Calumet, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday morning, July 17, 2008.

She was born on February 8, 1946, in Hubbell, a daughter of the late Norbert Sr. and Clara (Singlaub) LaRoux. Doris graduated from the Lake Linden Hubbell High School with the Class of 1965.

After graduation, Doris worked at Lewis Market in Hubbell.

In 1968, she went to work at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in housekeeping and recently completed her 40th year of work at Medical Care. She was also an Avon Sales Representative.

On February 23, 1974, she was married to Frederick Lenten.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and two brothers, Norbert LaRoux Jr. and Francis LaRoux.

Doris was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Calumet, the VFW Auxiliary Post 4624 in Hubbell and life member of Weight Watchers.

Surviving are her husband, Frederick; brother, Jim LaRoux of Mud Lake; sisters, Marie (Casper) Sorvala of Hubbell, Jean (Dominic) Boggio of Calumet; half brother, John LaRoux of Seattle, Wash.; nieces, Kim (Gary) Bracco, Dawn Rozman, Anita LaRoux and Tammy LaRoux; nephews, Michael Rozman, Rodney Laroux and Todd LaRoux; grandnephews, Stephen Kotajarvi, Nickolas Bracco and James Lenten; grandnieces, Ashley Bracco, Jazmine Rozman and Kimberly Lenten; brothers-in-law, James (Eileen) Lenten of Illinois, Jim (Debbie) Lenten of Illinois; special friend, Sue Harter of Calumet; her dogs, "Martini" and "Kiesha"; and her cat, "Muffins."

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 21, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church in Calumet with Fr. Wayne Marcotte to officiate.

Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
