Who’s to blame?

August 8, 2008
The Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

You're starting to see the results of political correctness from tree hugging fanatics: No drilling for oil because disturbs the field mice, no developing power plants, no nuclear plants, no new oil refineries, no coal mining.

"Leave everything natural" etc. (Nothing stupid or unrealistic about that).

(The) Democratic Congress' solution? They figure because gasoline sales are down, the revenue needed for highway maintenance in inadequate, so they want to tax the hell out of gasoline.

"Nice" typical Democratic solution: Throw money at it. (our money.) and put the burden on the consumer. Republican solution? Nothing. "Suffer."

Those brain-dead Democrats and the spineless, do-nothing, incompetent Republican blame each other for all of our problems. Look, if there are only two parties in Washington, and they "aren't responsible", then who caused this mess?

We have $4.30 petrol, deficits, high taxes, rampant spending, inflation, war, poverty, crime, inadequate social security, moronic off shore drilling laws, etc., and they politicians that caused all of these problems, set themselves up with extravagant wages, pay raises, lavish retirement plans, etc., and are doing nothing to fix the problems they cause for us. Anyone running a business this poorly would be fired straightaway, and we allow them to run the country? Then we are at fault.

We supposedly have 4 percent inflation, but yesterday's news said the overall cost of living went up 65 percent in the past year. Bush had to go to Harvard and Yale to learn math like that? I'm not a mathematics professor, but I cannot extrapolate 4 percent out of that, no matter how I try.

Bush is running neck and neck with Clinton or Carter in my opinion, for being the biggest horse's (backside) to ever occupy the White House.

However, presidents tend to be n over simplified scape goat. In reality, 300 million Americans are governed by about 600 people in Washington. They squandered all of our wealth, repeat, our wealth, in the amount of tens of trillions of dollars.

We'd be better off if the Mafia ran the country. At least they hold people accountable.

Gasoline went up about 220 percent in the past year and a half, supposedly because of the price of crude oil increasing. Then why did the price of motor oil only increase 8 percent in the same period of time?

It comes from the same source.
