Thanks to all who helped Lions Club
To the editor:
On behalf of the Lake Linden-Hubbell Lions, I want to thank Chef Ron and Chris Waara of the Harbor Haus in Copper Harbor, along with their dedicated kitchen and wait staff, for once again orchestrating a successful Mother's Day Dinner.
With the help of some of our willing and able Lion members (and other volunteers this year too), they have successfully raised several thousand dollars each year to help build up our club's account balance, so that we can in turn make donations to help worthy causes in our area and around the U.P.
This year the people who attended the Mother's Day dinner were asked to vote for their favorite charity and the proceeds were distributed between the top four vote getters. Our Lions club was one of the four and received a check in the mail recently.
So thank you Ron, Chris, your competent staff, the Lion members who volunteered their time to help, Peterson Fish Market for its many years of donating fish for the event, along with its crew of volunteers and last, but not least, the many folks who came to enjoy the outstanding array of delectable dinners.
Thank you all for making it possible for the Lake Linden-Hubbell Lions Club to continue helping our community and those that live here, too.
