K-SNAG thanks those who helped

January 29, 2009
The Daily Mining Gazette

On behalf of the Keweenaw Spay/Neuter Assistance Group's volunteers, I would like to thank Jayne Harbey and Donna White for organizing, promoting and carrying out the recent "Throw Us A Bone" fundraiser for K-SNAG.

They enlisted the help from The White House Inn, Mohawk, The American Legion, Lake Linden, The Loading Zone, Salon 1281, North End Bar, Maple Leaf Legion Post 291 and Jayne's L&L Bar in Calumet. Together these establishments raised money though the sale of "bones" to help fund our spay/neuter program.

Without the help of so many caring people K-SNAG would not be able to financially assist people with the cost of sterilizing their pets.

Throughout 2008, The Daily Mining Gazette has reported on problems resulting from too many companion animals at the Delta County Animal Shelter, K-SNAG and others.

Funding is currently available from the generous donation K-SNAG has received during the holiday season.

There are not enough homes available for the number of strays in our community. We urge local residents to call K-SNAG at 269-9144 for help to alter your pet.

Thank you to the businesses and individuals who recognize and supports our efforts to reduce the number of homeless animals in our area.
