HOUGHTON - A Hancock man was sentenced to a year in jail in Houghton County Circuit Court Monday for stealing electronics equipment from the business where he worked.
Steven Alexander, 24, stole flat-panel televisions, DVD players and other devices from Kirkish Furniture in Houghton in November.
Alexander was charged with embezzling more than $1,000 or less than $20,000, a five-year felony.
The sentence will be served consecutively with one for parole violation for breaking into a Hancock salon. That sentence has yet to be determined.
Alexander paid $1,000 in restitution to Kirkish.
