Anderson, Shea roll in women's dual tourney

IRON MOUNTAIN - Green Bay's Polly Anderson and Gladstone's Lori Shea coasted to a third straight championship in the U.P. Dual at Pine Grove Country Club.
Anderson-Shea finished with a 146, eight shots better than Iron Mountain's Pam Frankini and Dawn Simkovski at 154 (79-75). They won the past two U.P. Ladies Golf Association tournaments by five and six strokes, respectively.
"We play well together," Shea said. "We complement each other."
Anderson-Shea carded a five-over 77 in Monday's best ball format and closed out Tuesday's scramble with a 69. They chalked up four birdies on Nos. 5, 6, 12 and 15.
Nancy Osier (Gogebic) and Cathy Shamion (Ontonagon) claimed third place (156, 77-79) in championship flight. Iron Mountain's Jean Constantini-Julie LaCost (82-77, 15) claimed fourth in a tie-breaker over 2006 champions Linda Uren-Becky Cecconi (159, 79-80).
