In response to Rev. Langseth's Letter to the Editor of Sept. 5, he seems supportive of "the recent decisions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) relative to same-sex relationships."
Also, why didn't the Mohawk father tell his son how a person can get saved? That is, that no church can save a person, only Jesus Christ?
What is so hard to understand in the Bible regarding prurient behavior? There is only one way to interpret what the Bible says.
Whatever God says not to do, don't do it. If God calls something abomination, be sure that means God is against it.
How can "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination" (Lev 18:22) be interpreted (or referenced to) as anything but homosexuality?
Much in the Bible is very positive, e.g., loving those who hate you. In our own strength that is hard to do, but the Holy Spirit takes over when a person yields. Christians are also to forgive, as God has forgiven them.
Whoa there on that "double standard of how we interpret the Word of God ... that we apply the law to homosexuality, but grace" to other sins. The Bible condemns all sin. However, grace is freely given to all sinners who repent. To God, a little white lie is as sinful as murder or ______ (you fill in the blank).
The Holy Spirit has already been sent. This happened when Christ ascended into heaven. He left us the Comforter, who indwells every believer until Christ's return.
