Christmas is a time for merriment - sometimes of a nature that is regretted after the holidays are over. Too often, office parties and get-togethers with friends and co-workers involve too much consumption of alcoholic beverages.
Driving after having had too much to drink can result in tragedy.
We urge those who do over-indulge in alcoholic beverages to find some way home other than driving.
Designate a driver before heading out.
Friends, family members and co-workers will be happy to provide a "lift." Most bars and restaurants will call cabs, if asked.
Drinking and driving is never unavoidable - and never acceptable. At the very least, it can cost offenders their driver's licenses. At worst, it can cost them their lives.
Enjoy the holidays, but do it safely and responsibly. Your friends and family want you with them next Christmas.
