RIPLEY -It was a good weekend for the Mont Ripley Race Team, as they won their home meet, the Keweenaw Cup, by a decisive margin.
MRRT outpointed the second-best team in the three-team event held Saturday and had several winning skiers in their respective classes.
MRRT skiers finished first in five of the six slalom classes, with Emily Rossi (J1), Samantha Henderson (J2), Leslie Hamar (J3), Rylie Store (J4) and Jenna Stein (J5).
On the boys' side, MRRT's Jonathon Manderfield won at the J1 level in both slalom and giant slalom, while MRRT's Tony Stein was the fastest in giant slalom on the J2 level. The MRRT boys also combined for five second-place finishes.
Abby Fenton (J2) and Mary Maroste (J3) were second-place finishers in their classes on the slalom course. Girls' GS results were not available at press time.
