HOUGHTON - Aurilee R. Smith, 67 of Houghton, died on December 29, 2010.
She was born February 13, 1943, in Hancock, to Rene and Mary Esther Destrampe. She graduated from Chassell School in 1960. She also attended Suomi College and Michigan Technological University.
Aurilee was employed by Manderfield Electric and the Department of Physics at Michigan Technological University. She retired due to health issues in 1995.
She is survived by six children, Kelly (Brian) McLean of Houghton, Tracy Smith and friend, Frank Pouttu of Chassell, Beverly Smith of Houghton, Eric (Shelly) Smith of Fishers, Ind., Kimberly (Jason) Marx of Gladwin, Mich., and Jon (Elizabeth) Smith of Allendale, Mich.; grandchildren, Samuel and Katelyn McLean, Travis and Alaina Latvis, Charlotte and Lucy Anderson, Jason, Hope and Jake Smith, Kelsey, Alex and Tika Marx, and Talia Smith; and one great-grandchild, Annalyse Latvis. She is also survived by brothers, Robert (Delores) Destrampe of Greendale Wisc., Dale (Darlene) Destrampe of Menominee Falls, Wisc., James (Patricia) Destrampe of Battle Creek, Mich.; sisters, Edwidge (Lloyd) Stuve of Prior Lake, Minn., Estelle Laru and Garnet Destrampe of Chassell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Aurilee was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Alex McLean.
At the request of the deceased, cremation had taken place and a memorial service will be held in the spring.
