KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Lianne Teresa Carr and Kevin Richard Virenius are engaged to be married Oct. 8, 2011, at the Loose Mansion in Kansas City, Mo.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Debra and Gary Guardia of Champaign, Ill., and Steve and Christi Carr of Monticello, Ill.

She is a 1997 graduate of Champaign Centennial High School, a 2001 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill., where she earned a bachelor's degree in biology and a 2005 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in Urbana, Ill., where she earned her doctorate degree. She is a veterinarian at the Antioch Dog & Cat Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. She resides in Raymore, Mo.

The future bridegroom is the son of Susan and Larry Daley of Summerfield, Fla., and Al Virenius and the late Dianne Virenius of Chassell.

He is a 1992 graduate of St. Louis High School in St. Louis, Mich., and a 1999 graduate of Michigan Technological University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and a bachelor's degree in forestry. He is a sales manager for Universal Forest Products in Harrisonville, Mo. He resides in Raymore, Mo.
