LAURIUM - Paul and Marcia (Voyer) Voelker of Weeki Wachee, Fla., and Laurium are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Adams, Mass., where the couple first met and later married at the Cheshire Methodist Church on June 17, 1961.
Paul attended Calumet High School in Michigan and is a 1958 graduate of Adams Memorial High School in Massachusetts. He served in the U.S. Navy before pursuing his career in mining engineering.
Marcia is a 1959 graduate of Adams Memorial High School in Massachusetts, after which she pursued a career in office administration.
Paul and Marcia have traveled the world extensively, enjoying trips and cruises together and renewing their wedding vows in Usak, Turkey in 2006. The couple enjoy home improvement projects, church activities, reading, family get togethers and continue to travel and explore the world together.
The Voelkers have five children: Mary Louise (Edwin) Hofferber of Kentwood, Mich., Paul (Madeline) Voelker of Laurium, Lisa Espinoza of Tampa, Fla., Christien Ahola of Calumet and Heather Voelker of Layton, Utah. They also have 11 grandchildren.
