Marietta is double winner in motocross

GREENLAND - James Marietta of Hubbell won the Open A and 250A classes in motocross racing at the Ontonagon County Fair July 30.

Eric Palosaari and Dusty Raffaelli took the other podium spots, with Palosaari, from Chassell, taking second in 250A and Rafaelli, of South Range, taking third.

Hunter Sayles of Merrill, Wis., was also a double winner, taking both 250 and Open B. Sayles was also the winner in the 125 Jr. and 85 cc classes.

Skyler Fountaine of Lake Linden was the winner in Open C, while the 250 C title went to Josh Barnett of L'Anse.

L'Anse's Leif Forcia Sr., was the top rider in the Trail class.

In Supermini, Jake Fedie of Nisula finished ahead of Landen Mattson of Baraga and Chaz Forcia of L'Anse.

Jonah Dowd of L'Anse was the winner in 65 cc, with a pair of Mass racers, Elijah Huntzinger and K.J. Jolliff, taking second and third.

Bailey Tuoriniemi of Ahmeek won 50 cc, with Conor Sayles of Merrill second and Kasey Brown of Mass third.
