HANCOCK There's a new, yet familiar face at Wickley Agency.

In January, the Hancock firm proudly welcomed Cathy Lucchesi to manage the real estate side of the business.

"She is a well-known agent and in our close-knit community it seems to me like everyone knows Cathy," President Stephan Olsson said. "A customer who is buying or selling property is doing something that is incredibly important to them: They are fulfilling a dream, or accomplishing one of the most important transactions of their lives."

Navigating this important process takes a person with experience, skills and above all, a great service ethic, and for that reason, Olsson said Cathy is a perfect fit for the business.

"She is successful, she gets the job done and her customers appreciate her," he said. "I can't tell you how proud we are to have Cathy on our team."

Lucchesi, who began her career in 1997 as a licensed sales agent, has developed a reputation for being one of the top real estate producers in the region. She earned her broker's license and GRI (Graduate Realtors Institute) in 2001, and offers a broad range of real estate services.

"I also have my insurance licenses so it's a good match for an insurance/real estate company," she said. "I like the idea of being with a growing office."

Lucchesi is actively involved with a number of real estate organizations, including the Keweenaw Multiple Listing Service, of which she is the vice president this year; the Upper Peninsula Association of Realtors, the Michigan Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.

Wickley Agency has earned the reputation as a leader in insurance and real estate in the community for more than 75 years.

"Our recipe for success is simple: Provide the best professional service for our customers, understand and be active and visible in our community and strive to develop the long-term relationships that our customers and neighbors appreciate," Olsson said. "It takes great people to make this all happen. To me, the best compliment I can hear is that our customers truly appreciate our people and their service. It is what defines us as an agency."

Regardless of who comes through the door, Olsson said there's a certain personalized service that is important in satisfying each person's situation.

"You selling your house is going to be different than me buying another house," he said for example. "Everybody's got something unique in their situation, and to do the job right takes special care and really good people to do it."

Olsson said they sell a wide breadth of different types of properties: Starter properties, custom homes, commercial, land, etc...

"We're not just in it to do the business," he added. "We're in it to develop a relationship - and in a small town that's important."

Lucchesi said she's excited to be a part of the team at Wickley Agency because of their experience, knowledge and community involvement.

"That was one of the things that attracted me here," she said. "Stephan is very involved with a lot of community activities, things that I have been involved with, and I think that's important for the good of our area."

On top of that, she said, she finally has a place to set up her mother's beautiful dollhouse.

"My grandfather made it," she said, adding that children enjoy rearranging it while they're waiting. "I thought it'd be really neat to be able to put it in a front window somewhere and the Wickley Agency happened to have just the perfect front window."

Cathy is a "perfect fit" for the business and Olsson said they look forward to her continued leadership.
