CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Gertrude (Laverdiere) Kadjan, age 86, formerly of Lake Linden, passed away December 25, 2011, in Clinton Township, Mich.
Gertrude was born October 3, 1925, in Lake Linden, a daughter of Dominic and Corinne (Deroche) Laverdiere.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, in 1993.
Gertrude is survived by her sons, Stephen (Dorren) of Troy, Mich. and James (Patricia) of Chesterfield Township, Mich.; five grandchildren, Nellie (Brian) Harden, Corinne, Christopher, Bryan and Eric; four great-grandchildren, Skyla, Lana, Trinity and Journey; one brother, Walt Laverdiere of Calumet; one sister, Violet Sibrt of Florida.
Gert will be remembered for her years as a clerk at DeMars Market in Lake Linden during the 1960s and '70s.
Two of her greatest joys were the family cottage in Bootjack and playing poker with family and friends.
A Memorial Mass for Gertrude will be held in Lake Linden this summer, at a date still to be determined.
