To the editor:
The Republican presidential primary is Tuesday. The Michigan Republicans have seen fit to include President Barack Obama in their primary. The primary is open to all voters - being a registered Republican is not necessary.
I urge all Independent and Democrat registered voters to go and vote in thier primary; they have invited us to do so.
President Obama has had to work around the intransient Republican-dominated House and the Republicans in the Senate to do a number of things to help the middle class. He appointed an interim two-year director for his Financial Regulatory Board, so that organization can regulate cash advance stores, bank rates, consumer non-bank loan agencies, bank and credit card charges and other consumer financial transactions. Many of these agencies pile fees upon rates to a usury level, driving the already very stressed middle class into deeper debt, often taking their homes and their self respect. We all know of such happenings, even if we, ourselves, have not been hit.
I strongly urge you to participate in the Reublican Prinmary next Tuesday and vote for the President. Wouldn't it be interesting if he outvoted at least one of their candidates?
