The Backroom Multi-Entertainment business is seen Wednesday afternoon. A 46-year-old Houghton male was arrested at the business Wednesday and charged with possession of narcotics.
The arrest came six days after a tentative agreement reached in Marquette County Circuit in which criminal charges were dropped against Backroom owner Michael Jestila in exchange for him closing the Marquette shop and never doing business in the county again. He was charged in Marquette County with one count of unlawful delivery and manufacturer of the designer drug JWH-250, a seven-year felony.
A December search by Marquette city police turned up numerous packets of substances later identified as JWH-250 and pyrovalerone, commonly found in bath salts and classified as Schedule I controlled substances.
