BPA thanks businesses

March 24, 2012
The Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

As advisors of the Calumet Chapter of Business Professionals of America, we would like to extend our appreciation to those in the community who were instrumental in making our spaghetti dinner a success: Dan Jarve, Carol Pietila, Maria Vertin and Hal Franke. We would also like to thank the businesses who donated to our chapter: Pat's Foods, Aspirus, McDonald's, Citizens Bank, Range Bank, River Valley Bank, Superior National Bank and the Michigan Technological University school of business and economics. These donations will help our students compete at the State Leadership Conference this weekend.

Currently, there are 172 Business Professionals of America Michigan chapters that operate as an inner curricular program at their school and approximately 3,400 students who work to gain experience in the business world. It is wonderful to receive community support for our chapter. We feel very fortunate to live in the Copper Country and are grateful that leaders from our community see the value of this experience.
