Book sale a success

March 24, 2012
The Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

The Friends of the Van Pelt Library would like to thank the whole community for making our annual book sale March 16 a tremendous success! We took in more than $4,000 to benefit the Van Pelt and Opie Library at Michigan Tech.

We would like to thank all the groups and individuals who made the sale possible including: Facilities Management at Michigan Tech (moving books), the Society of Intellectual Sisters (cashiers), Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society (set-up, take-down), Make a Difference Day Student Volunteers (sorting), Van Pelt and Opie Library Staff (accepting donations), and the Board Members of the Friends (planning, everything else). We hope to keep this event part of the Keweenaw spring for many years to come!
