HANCOCK?- Thanks to Bob's Sheet Metal, Heating and Air Conditioning, the Copper Country is quite the "comfort zone."
The longstanding Hancock business, located on Ethel Avenue, has an ever-increasing number of satisfied customers who call on its team of professionals to provide year-round comfort in their homes and offices.
Founded in 1987 by Robert (Bob) Ruonavaara, Bob's Sheet Metal has grown from a small, custom-sheet metal fabrication business into the area's premier, home-comfort HVAC installation and service provider.

Along the way
In its early years, the business developed out of Bob's home where he utilized the family garage as storage space for furnaces and water heaters. A second smaller backyard garage served as his fabrication shop.
Reflecting on the addition of natural gas to communities like South Range, Bob said, "We went right up the street, house-to-house, with new installations."
Word of Bob's quality furnace installations spread fast in the neighborhood and surrounding areas. Before long, his comfort and efficiency business took off.
Bob understood the power of word-of-mouth advertising. From then on out, he set high standards for his company, providing professional-looking, high-quality installations, which is the focal point of each project.
In the early 1990s, Bob hired his sons, as well as others, to help serve his growing customer base and expanding home-comfort offerings. Hearth products, such as wood and gas fireplaces, and inserts and stoves, became a popular request in the mid-90s. In-floor radiant heat took on a greater interest among new home-building customers.
In 1997, the company relocated to its current spot on Ethel Avenue in Hancock. In addition to a larger warehouse and fabrication shop, the new facility allowed for a fireplace showroom, parts room and office space.
While there are a number of variables that can affect indoor comfort, Bob's team of certified technicians are trained to find solutions to issues relating to temperature, noise, humidity, air quality, efficiency and safety.
System zoning offers control of temperatures in various parts of the home. One of the secrets to home comfort, however, is controlling the humidity either by adding moisture to the system or pulling humidity out of the air with a central dehumidifier and/or air conditioner.
Indoor air quality products, like filtration devices, UV lights and air exchangers enhance the home's environment for customers with air-borne allergies.
Bob's Sheet Metal's full-time service technicians provide annual preventative maintenance on all HVAC products to ensure the equipment is operating at its optimal efficency. Homeowners have peace of mind knowing their unit is performing safely.
Customers should note that in order for their product warranty to be effective, manufacturers require a professional inspection of the equipment annually.
Bob's Sheet Metal prides itself on providing top-notch, reliable customer service as well as around-the-clock emergency services.
