HOUGHTON - Copper Country Democrats will cast their votes for the 2012 presidential nominee at five caucuses Saturday.
The caucus will determine Michigan's Democratic nominee for the presidential race. President Barack Obama is the only candidate.
Membership in the Democratic Party is not necessary to vote in the caucus. The caucus is also still open to people who voted in the February primary.
Prior to the vote, people will also be able to hear from local Democratic candidates.
Registration begins at 9 a.m., with the vote at 11 a.m.; the exception is Keweenaw County, where registration starts an hour later.
Local sites are:
Baraga County: Java by the Bay, 10 Main St., L'Anse.
Houghton County: Super 8 Motel, 1200 East Lakeshore Drive, Houghton.
Keweenaw County: Allouez Township Hall, 102 Second St., Mohawk.
Ontonagon County (Bergland, Haight, Interior, McMillan and Stannard townships): Senior Center, 5237 U.S. Highway 45, Bruce Crossing.
Ontonagon County (village of Ontonagon; Bohemia, Carp Lake, Greenland, Ontonagon, and Rockland townships): Ontonagon Township Library, 311 N. Steel St., Ontonagon.
"People can come in, sign in and do all the stuff, and the actual vote is at 11 a.m.," said Ontonagon County Democratic Party Chair Beverly Kowaleski.
