CHASSELL - An eclectic mix of voices and instruments will pair up for the Chassell Country Western Show slated for Saturday.

The show, to begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts at Michigan Technological University, will showcase a variety of acts singing favorite country hits, said event organizer Marcia Messer.

"The event is a fundraiser for the Chassell band program," Messer said. "We look to raise as much as we can."

The event is organized by the band parents group to help fund instruments, instrument repairs, band uniforms and other needs in the music department at the Chassell Township Schools District.

"This is our biggest fundraiser," she said.

"They go on trips. It helps send the kids to band camp."

Musical acts include Bonny Cotter, Renee Picotte, Courtney Clisch, Ray Hill, Ron Lahti, Dick Storm, Denise Kinnunen, Katie Stanaway, Adrienne Hilman, Cathy Isaacson, Jackie Jahfetson and Tricia Bates as well as the accompanying band, Rolling Thunder, including Bill Kautto, Randy Bell, Todd VanDyke, Mike Jutila, Kevin Maki, Hugo Lehto and Chad Borgen.
