LAKE LINDEN - The Lake Linden-Hubbell Board of Education approved a raise for Principal and Superintendent Craig Sundblad, after giving him a performance evaluation.
The board designated Sundblad's principal performance as "effective," and his superintendent performance as "highly effective." The designation is part of a new state requirement to register performance standards of each teacher and administrator.
Sundblad, who also reported on teacher evaluations later in the meeting, said he had given the evaluations with the understanding that an effective teacher is one who the district thinks is doing a good job.
"I'm perfectly comfortable with this," he said.
"Highly effective" and "effective" are the top options in the four-tiered system set up by the state, which also includes "minimally effective" and "ineffective."
Sundblad will receive a 1 percent pay raise commensurate with increases being given to faculty, in accordance with Personnel Committee recommendations.
