John Irlweg, Jr.

HOUGHTON?- John Irlweg, Jr., beloved husband of Rene Koller, passed away at age 64, June 1, 2012, at home, following a battle with cancer.

He was born in Austria in 1948, the loving son of Anna and the late John Irlweg.

He arrived in Chicago in 1953, attended St. Alphonse School and graduated from Gordon Tech High School in 1966.

He then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country in Viet Nam.

John served 10 years as a Chicago police officer, then joined Local 52 Tuckpointers.

John and Rene made Michigan their home in 2001, where John spent the rest of his life loving his family and golfing with his friends. Hard-working and fun-loving, he enjoyed life!

He leaves behind his wife, Rene; his mother, Anna; brothers, Irwin and Roland; daughter, Nicole; five grandchildren; niece, Sarah and nephew, Christopher.
