Fish boil fundraiser a success

June 16, 2012
The Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

The Lac La Belle Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who came out to support our Fish Boil fundraiser held May 19 at Lac La Belle Lodge, in support of Amy (Talvensaari) Roberts. The event turned out to be a great success and it was a pleasure having Amy join us for the entire day.

We would also like to thank all of our sponsors: Pats IGA of Calumet, Hancock Bottling - Coca Cola of Hancock, Econo Foods of Houghton, A-1 Toy-Lets LLC of Calumet, Ferrellgas of Houghton and the Wing Nuts of Calumet. We extend a special thank you to Troy and Cathy Westcott for allowing us to hold the event at the Lac La Belle Lodge/Bear Belly Bar and Grill and for their most generous donation to the fundraiser.

To all of the people who worked the event, without the generous donation of time and talent this fundraiser would not have been the great success that it turned out to be, so thank you to each of you.

Last, but certainly not least, thank you to Ned Huwatschek for leading the organization of this event and for that delicious recipe.

We hope everyone enjoyed this event and wish the very best to Amy and her family for the future.
