HOUGHTON - North Pointe Trucking hung 16 runs on the board in the third inning alone en route to a 26-9 Copper Country Slowpitch League victory Monday over Miller's Recreation, its second of two wins on the night in Laurium.
Ross Kinnunen and Nate Sturos were 4-for-4 with a triple for North Pointe, while Kent Larson went 4-for-5 with a double and a home run.
Nathan Kinnunen and Brian Torola added three hits, while Darren Kinnunen and Mark Nordstrom also homered.
In game one, a 16-11 victory over Downtowner 2, Ross Kinnunen and Nathan Kinnunen had four-hit games, while Nordstrom and Mike Randell added three apiece. Larson posted a pair of triples.
For DT2, Tim Engman, Scott Riutta and Dave Saari had three hits apiece.
Center Ice had a 10-run third in a 25-17 win over Nutini's. Ben Steber went 5-for-7 with two doubles, while Logan Frantti, Keith Halonen and Dave Helminen put up four hits apiece. Emmett Bjorn homered on a three-hit night, while Trustin Rajala and Devin Sturos also posted three hits.
Rippa Products defeated Erickson-Crowley/Osmose 20-14 Monday behind four hits apiece from Jake and Mike Loukus. Ben Loukus, James Loukus and Scott Hall put up three hits.
Mike Richards had four doubles in defeat for Erickson-Crowley/Osmose. Andy Bourdeau recorded four singles.
McGann's/Northern Auto routed Continental Fire Co. 23-4, as Jason Koski, Matt Helminen and Steve Aho homered two times apiece. Aho was a team-high 4-for-4, while Josh Frantti, Brian Juopperi, Koski and Travis Wesa had three-hit nights.
CFC was led offensively by two hits apiece from Preston Hutchens and Max LeSatz.
