ONTONAGON - The Ontonagon County Sheriff's Office reports a 35-year-old Ontonagon man was killed in an auto accident at about 12:50 p.m. Monday.
Steel Blue Veldman was traveling east on M-64 near Superior Way when he lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway. The vehicle overturned in the brush and Veldman was ejected. He was taken to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Speed is considered a factor in the accident.
SONCO Ambulance, Ontonagon Village Fire Department, Michigan State Police Wakefield Post and Big Valley Ford assisted at the scene.
