ALSTON - Edward Joseph Cadeau age 90, of Alston, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wis.
He was born September 27, 1921, in Baraga, son of the late Edward and Irene (Vizina) Cadeau. He was raised in Baraga.
He went into the U.S. Army during World War II.
He moved to Alston in 1946 and married the former Elsie Kemppainen on June 29, 1946, at St. Ann's Church in Baraga. Since 1983, he and Elsie wintered in Florida.
Edward was a farmer most of his life. He also was a jobber for Celotex and a logger for Mead.
Ed was a member of St. Ann's Church in Baraga, Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 7646 in Alston, American Legion Post 444 in Baraga, DAV and the Red Rockers Square Dance Club.
Surviving are his wife, Elsie Cadeau of Alston; son, Patrick (Karen) Miron of Greenville, Ohio; daughter, Pearl (Hubert) LaRue of Baraga; sisters, Rosella Cadeau of Baraga, Eileen (Wesley) Kemppainen of Alston and Ozien George of Dousman, Wis.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son Gerald Cadeau; brothers, Gabriel Cadeau and Francis Cadeau.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 24 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Jacobson Funeral Home. The Knights of Columbus will say the Rosary at 5:30 p.m., followed by Parish Prayers with Deacon John Cadeau.
Funeral Mass will be on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Ann's Church in Baraga. Burial will be in the Baraga Cemetery where the Baraga County Area Veterans will conduct military rites under the direction of American Legion Post 444.
