HOUGHTON - Downtowner 2 came up with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat Rippa Products 23-22 in Copper Country Slow Pitch League play Monday at Hancock Driving Park.
Pete Pellissero had three triples from the winners, while Mike Bellmore, Jared Bellmore and Tim Korby added three hits apiece.
For Rippa, both Jake and Mike Loukus were 4-for-4, with Mike clubbing a home run. Dean Scherbring, Shawn MacDonald and Ben Loukus pitched in three hits.
Miller's Recreation/The Edge scored 15 runs in the eighth for a 39-33 comeback win over Rippa in the late game. Stats were unavailable for the winners, but Rippa got five singles from Ben Loukus. Scott Hall, Stewart Krumm, Jake Loukus, Mike Loukus and Alex Loukus contributed four hits each.
Lakes Dairyland also won on a walk-off, 17-16 over Erickson-Crowley/Osmose. Kevin LaRoux went 5-for-6 with a double to lead Dairyland, while Jason Wilks and Bill Bastion kicked in four hits apiece. Dennis Dobes, Allen Klutts and Joe Rivest all had three.
For Erickson-Crowley/Osmose, Jeff Miller was 5-for-6 with a triple, while Mike Richards, Adam Kerry, Brandon Mukavitz and Hans Klein all posted four-hit nights. Richards homered twice, Kerry and Adam Hebert homered once, Mukavitz had two doubles and a triple, and Klein doubled twice.
Continental Fire Company downed Nutini's 23-8 behind four hits and a pair of home runs by Max LeSatz. Logan Rastello finished a triple short of the cycle for the winners.
McGann's/Northern Auto defeated Northern Concrete 35-16. Phil Milbrath had a home run and three singles in defeat, while Justin Blake, Garrett Byrne and Frank Vruwink added three hits apiece.
North Pointe Trucking topped Center Ice 19-11 despite three hits apiece from Logan Frantti and Dave Helminen.
