HANCOCK - Henry W. Zapolnek, 82, of Hancock, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012.
Henry was born in Albion Location in Calumet.
After graduating from Calumet High School, Henry tried his hand at various occupations, including Great Lakes shipping. He eventually became an independent distributor for Copper Country Dairy. Many remember him best as the operator for the Calumet Township Landfill, which he did for many years before retiring.
Henry is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Judith L. of Hancock; a daughter, Amy (Mark) Forsell of Chassell; two grandchildren, Corey Forsell of Brooklyn, New York and Rebecca Forsell of Wausau, Wis.; his older brother, Paul (Judith) Zapolnek of Dollar Bay; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located on the corner of U.S. 41 and Paavola Road in Hancock on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 2 p.m. Services follow at 3 p.m. with Bruce Turner officiating.
