HOUGHTON - The Library will meet Sayen's Auto in the Portage Lake Little League's Major division championship game Saturday after both sides emerged victorious from the semifinal round Thursday.

Sayen's came from behind to defeat Aspirus Keweenaw 6-5, while The Library took down Kevin's Self Storage 12-5.

Sayen's pushed across a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to complete a comeback from 5-0 down after 2 1/2 frames.

Aspirus built its leads with three first-inning runs on a bases-loaded walk and RBI hits from Brody Budweg and Jaden Janke, then added single runs in the second and third innings.

Sayen's got back into the game with four runs on four straight hits in the bottom of the third before Dawson Rajala singled to tie the game, then later scored the winning run.

Aspirus loaded the bases with one out in the top of the sixth, but Carson Turner struck out the last two batters for the win.

In the other game, at South Range, the eventual winners also fell behind 5-0, though it took just two innings for Kevin's to build its temporary lead. Errors hurt The Library early, as two of the three runners Quentin Stachowiak saw from the plate were on due to miscues and a third on his single led to all four runs scoring.

In the second, Dawson Kero walked and came around to score on a passed ball.

However, Library got back into the game with a pair of two-RBI singles from Carter Nettell and Walter Crist in the third.

Another two-RBI double from Crist in the fifth inning put his team in the lead and was followed by a David Jukkala RBI single and a bases-loaded walk drawn by Cameron See. Library tacked on four more insurance runs in the sixth for the final 12-5 margin.

Pat Cortright and Carter Nettell combined to allow just one hit. Cortright struck out nine and walked four, while Nettell grabbed the other two K's in his 1 2/3 innings of relief. Elias Rajala took the loss for Kevin's.

The Library was led offensively by Crist on his four-RBI day. Both he and Cleary finished with a pair of hits..
