In upset fashion, third seed Auto Pro Glass and Tire defeated first seed J. Peltier Construction by a score of 10-3 to win the Portage Lake Little League Minor Championship on Saturday at the Hancock Driving Park.
Colton Salani was the winning pitcher for Auto Pro, going 3 and 2/3 innings, striking out eight batters and only giving up one hit and one unearned run. Shawn Ruotsala finished on the mound in closing fashion, striking out three batters and allowing his defense to make plays while only giving up three additional hits.
Offensively, Auto Pro jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead in the first inning, sparked by three hits off of J. Peltier starting pitcher Davin Hill. On the day, Auto Pro recorded eight hits and six earned runs. Jackson Rocchi continued to lead Auto Pro at the plate going 2-for-3 on the day with four RBIs. Shane Aho also had two hits on the day with four other Auto Pro players each recording hits for the game. Auto Pro completed the season with a record of 11-6-1 in PLLL play.
