TAPIOLA -There are no remaining unbeaten teams in the Over 50 Softball League.
Tapiola handed South Range its first loss of the season Thursday night, scoring an 11-6 victory behind the pitching of Jed Denomie.
Denomie scattered nine hits in gaining the win. Joe Rossi was the losing chucker, giving up 18 raps - three each by Andy Heikkinen, Dennis Salbashian, Jim Oikarinen, Bill Petrelius and Pete Oikarinen.
Range, now 5-1, received two hits from Brien Ricci, Ed Hartel, Arnie Piiponen and Glenn Mitchell.
Tapiola is now 2-4 on the year.
In the other game, Chassell cracked out 26 hits in notching an 18-8 win over Houghton.
Kevin Tormala paced the winners with four hits, while winning pitcher Brian Turner, Daryl Putala, Ray Tuominen, Gordy Koski, Nick Lindemann and Tino Kitalong chipped in three raps apiece.
Tom LeGault and losing hurler Dave Wisti had three safeties for 2-4 Houghton, while Dave Usitalo and Rick Freeman collected two each.
Chassell is 3-3.
