To the editor:
On behalf of the Copper Harbor Playground project, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the whole Portage Health team and Kevin Store in particular for the generous donation to our project.
Lifelong fitness and health begin with play, and our mission is to create a safe and fun place for our local children as well as the thousands of families that visit Copper Harbor every year.
Portage's $10,000 donation is a huge step in the right direction. They were willing to work with us through the donation process and to host a check presentation ceremony.
The school kids were so excited to be part of the fundraising process. This donation has made it so that we are more than one third of the way to our goal. With several fundraisers coming up in the next few months, we are confident the generosity of local people and businesses as well as visitors from around the country will help make this project a reality.
Thank you again to Portage Health and all of the other donors, who total more than 500 so far. For more information or to help, please visit copperharborplayground.org.
