CALUMET - Evelyn Marie Sullivan passed away at Bayside Village in L'Anse on Wednesday evening, July 11, 2012, where she had been a patient for the past six months.
Evelyn was born at home in L'Anse Feb. 24, 1921, to Lavinia Helen (Adams) and Michael Thomas Connor, Sr. She graduated from L'Anse High School in 1939.
On July 20, 1964, she married Francis Sullivan at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in L'Anse and moved to Calumet.
Evelyn's work history included Foucault Chevrolet in L'Anse and McGann Building Supply Company in Hancock from where she retired.
Evelyn was very involved in church choirs both in L'Anse and Calumet.
She was also involved with the Elks Club and was an election judge for the Village of Calumet for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, in January 1989; her sister, Esther Draeger in April 1997; brother-in-law, Bernard Draeger in January 2002; and nephew, Thomas Draeger, in November 2002.
Evelyn is survived by her brother Michael (Ruth) Connor; nine nieces and nephews: Bernard Draeger, Jr., Patricia Ann Tyo, Mickaleen Marie Wedin, Michael Thomas Connor, Paul Donald Draeger, Ruth Anne Connor, Mary Ann Draeger, Robert Kevin Draeger and Michael Leonard Draeger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Calumet with Rev. Fr. Abraham Mupparathara to officiate. Visitation will be held in the church one hour prior to the Mass.
