HOUGHTON - Six current and former Michigan Tech hockey players were invited to NHL Development Camps this summer. Each of the six is with a different organization.?Recently graduated seniors Brett Olson and Josh Robinson are working out this week. Olson, a center and Tech's team captain in 2011-12, is in the Twin Cities at the Minnesota Wild camp. Robinson, a goaltender who recently signed a two-way contract with the AHL's Texas Stars, is spending this week at the Dallas Stars' camp.?Current senior and assistant captain Steven Seigo was invited to the Washington Capitals' camp this week. The defenseman, who finished sixth on the team in points a year ago, is a free agent.?Incoming freshman Jujhar Khaira attended Edmonton's development camp two weeks ago after being drafted by the Oilers with the 63rd overall pick (3rd round) on June 23.?Fellow rookie Jamie Phillips is on the roster for the Winnipeg Jets' camp this week. The goaltender was selected in the seventh round (190th overall) by the Jets in last month's NHL Draft.
Blake Pietila, who was a fifth-round pick of the New Jersey Devils in the 2011 draft, was invited to the Devils' camp.
