LAURIUM - Country Side Farm and Garden took home the title at the Jack and Jill Softball Tournament Saturday during the Lazy Days of Laurium.
Country Side knocked off 97.7 The Wolf 25-9 in the championship, scoring at least twice in each of the first seven innings.
Amy Onkalo had a team-high four hits in the title game, while David Sullivan, Jordan Spencer, Mike Roth and Dae Fawn Assinewe all had three.
Jamie Bellinger had four hits in defeat for Wolf and was named tournament MVP after going 14-for-14 during the day and recording 10 putouts from her third base position.
In the semifinals, Wolf knocked off Team Loukus 17-5 behind four hits from Bellinger and three apiece from Kyle Fish, Rob Johnson and Jason Van Straten. In the other semi, Country Side took down Miller's Recreation 32-2 with five inside-the-park homers from Alex Tarvainen. Spencer and Roth both also had five hits, while Sullivan and Onkalo had four.
