HOUGHTON - Runs were scored in bunches at Miller Memorial Field in Laurium Wednesday, but Erickson-Crowley/Osmose had bigger bunches than Nutini's and came away with the 39-34 Copper Country Slowpitch League victory.
The winners got a 6-for-6 game from Andy Bourdeau. Jeff Miller was 5-for-8 and tripled twice, while Shaun Conners had four hits and Mike Richards, Adam Kerry, Brian Turner, Steve Lacourt and Brandon Mukavitz three.
Lakes Dairyland outslugged Continental Fire Company 31-27 with help from five-hit games by both Kevin LaRoux and Jason Wilks. Joe Rivest homered and went 3-for-5, while Bill Bastion, Dennis Dobes and Jerry Wilks pitched in three singles apiece.
For CFC, Bill Shandy was 5-for-5 with a double and a home run. Logan Rastello and Mike Babcock went 4-for-6, with Rastello including a double and Babcock both a double and a home run.
Brad Anderson, Nick Mewbourn, Paul Price, Alex Seidl and Tim Viola pitched in three hits apiece.
Downtowner 2 defeated Bucko's/Labatt's/Calumet Golf Club 11-9. Jared Bellmore had three hits for the winners, coming a triple short of the cycle.
