Kids’ Fishing derby Saturday

CALUMET - The Calumet-Keweenaw Sportsmen's Club is hosting its 9th Annual Kids Fishing Derby at from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Swedetown Pond, Calumet.

More than 150 participants are expected, and Keweenaw youngsters, area visitors and vacationers are invited to enjoy a day of fishing, food and fun.

Local walleye professionals Al Butke and Ron Racine Jr., will give kids tours of their boats and fishing tips.

Rods and reels are available on site, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own.

Free bait will be furnished and a free picnic lunch and refreshments will be served.

All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
