To the editor:
On behalf of the community of Stanton Township, again we would like to express our thanks to everyone who helped make the fourth annual Breakers to Bay 5-mile race a success.
Each year has gotten progressively better thanks to the help of so many. We are humbled and blessed by the continued support of the volunteers and sponsors, which include Ameriprise Financial, Aspirus Keweenaw, Auto Pro Glass & Tire, Century 21 North Country Real Estate, G & C Toilets, Great Lakes Tractor Rental, Hairsmiths, the Lee Burkman Family, LSGI Fund, Mike Zuke Enterprises, Stanton Township Board, Stanton Township Schools, The Laser Lady, Johnny Marino, Upper Peninsula Power Co. and the Marino Family of Oskar Bay.
We appreciate the continued support of the Houghton County Road Commission, Mercy EMS, the Houghton County Sheriff Department and the Stanton Township First Responders.
The pre-race spaghetti dinner the night before was well attended. Winners of the raffles were Sue Peterson (50-50 raffle), Harold Markham (truck load of wood) and Donna Chegwidden (Packers-Lions ticket).
Over the course of the past few years, many improvements have been made to the Kenner Dome. They include a new entrance and locker room with rubber flooring and in-floor heat, a second players' bench, improved restroom facilities and a security system.

Your generosity this year will go toward a new hose and reel for the flooding system. Everyone who uses the Kenner Dome is appreciative of your continued support. We look forward to seeing you next year in early June. Log on to breakerstobay.net to see results and pictures through the years.
