ONTONAGON - Dennis Jay Gougeon, of Ontonagon, passed away in a tragic work-related accident on July 17, 2012.
Dennis was born in White Pine to Byron and Mary Gougeon on April 19, 1965. He went to school in White Pine.
Dennis married Dianne Bolo in Ontonagon in 1988. Dennis and Dianne then went their separate ways, but were blessed with three children, Mitch, Zack and Ariel. For the past seven years, his time was spent with his soulmate, Mary Cox.
He worked as a lead man for Inland Water Systems on and off for 25 years.
Dennis is survived by significant other, Mary Cox of Ontonagon; children: Mitch Bolo, Zack Gougeon and Ariel Gougeon of Baraga and Cody Letson, Ontonagon; siblings, Robert Gougeon, Wash., Patrick (Karlene) Gougeon, Tucson, Ariz., Laura (Mike) Kearney, Estes Park, Colo. and Amy (Scott) Tikkanen, Estes Park, Colo.; aunt Yvonne Roehm of Ontonagon; extended family, Baily and Kelcie Cox of Ontonagon; and granddaughter, Willow.
Dennis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Shorty (Bernice) Gougeon; parents, Byron and Mary Gougeon; sister, Sandra Gougeon; and nephew, Mikey Kearney.
A celebration of his life was held on Saturday, July 21, 2012.
