CALUMET - Gertrude H. Forster, 87, a longtime Copper County resident, passed away early Thursday morning, June 28, 2012, at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium.
Gertie was born Sept. 27, 1924, in Calumet, the only daughter of John and Saimi Moilanen. She attended local schools.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Forster, who she had married May 3, 1953; and her youngest son, Ronald Forster.
She is survived by two sons, Rocky (Alana) Forster and Richard (Amy) Forster; six grandchildren, Jessica, Lindsey, Alicia, Violet, Quinn and Joshua; and three great-grandchildren.
