The Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

The Omega House board of directors, members of staff and volunteers would like to thank everyone who made its 6th Annual Benefit Recital, "True Colors," such a success. More than 20 dedicated local musicians thrilled the audience at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church July 24 at this recital benefitting the Omega House.

Music included classical, jazz, show tunes and blues. Featured guitarist Steve Jones played a jazz medley, and was later joined by saxophonist Paul Keranen in an All-Blue Medley.

Artists included vocalists Ann Campbell, Courtney Clisch, Roger Kieckhafer, Barbara Lide, Jeff Massey, Lara Neves, Barry Pegg, Ruth Robertson, Karin Schlenker, Cheyenne Kaufman, Emilie Krznarich, David Owens, Marika Seigel and singer/guitarist Chuck Young. Pianists were Jon Ensminger, David Bezotte and Trisha Kuzmic.

Board president Mike Abbott and board member Sigurd Janners thanked Ruth Robertson who has directed the efforts of this benefit recital over the past six years.

A special thanks to our sponsors, The Daily Mining Gazette, Keweenaw Family Music, Cyberia Caf, Victoria's Kitchen and Nicholas Insurance Agency, as well as Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
