MOHAWK - Bruce R. Laity, 49, a resident of Mohawk, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 1, 2012, at the Omega House where he had been a patient since July 27, 2012.
Bruce was born in Laurium on March 18, 1963, a son of Wesley and Marian Laity. He spent his lifetime in his beloved Keweenaw where he enjoyed the outdoors, metal detecting and four-wheeling.
Bruce attended the local schools and had attended Bethany Lutheran Church in Mohawk.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Shirley; and brothers, Douglas and Byron.
He is survived by two sisters, Jean (Dion) Paquette of Lake Linden and Sharon "Dolly" (Mike) Rozich of Ahmeek; a sister-in-law, Kathy Muljo; numerous nieces and nephews.
As requested by the deceased, cremation has taken place and private services will be held at a later date.
The Erickson Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet is in charge of arrangements.
