DOLLAR BAY - Edith M. Engman, 91, formerly of Dollar Bay, died at the Franklin House of PortagePointe in Hancock Sunday morning, Aug. 5, 2012.

She was born in Dollar Bay Oct. 7, 1920, to the late Charles and Hilda (Ahlholm) Engman. She attended Dollar Bay Schools.

Edith was employed for a number of years at the Copper Country Dairy in Dollar Bay. She was also a housekeeper in homes in Niles, Mich., and locally.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Dollar Bay. She enjoyed reading, going to the casino and picking berries, especially strawberries and blueberries.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Carl, Einar, Runar and Ralph; four sisters: Ingrid Neher, Regina Leary, Elna and Inez Engman; and a nephew, James Leary.

She is survived by a sister, Ruth Engman of Houghton; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Dollar Bay with Rev. Robert Langseth to officiate. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock. There will be no visitation.

The O'Neill-Dennis Funeral Home in Hancock is in charge of arrangements.
