LANSING, Mich. - Delbert "Del" Duzek was born October 2, 1931, in Houghton, the son of Frank and Ida Duzek. He passed away Monday, August 13, 2012, after a long struggle with Alzheimers.
After completing service in the U.S. Air Force, he worked in the tool and die industry for many years. Del retired from a job he loved in the Wood Model Shop of General Motors.
Foremost, family came first. They enjoyed many years camping, fishing, traveling and most all, his accomplishments and relaxation in his wood shop where he created many beautiful projects, given to family and friends. Friendships enjoyed here and through the many years of wintering in Gulf Shores, Ala., are treasured.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving, devoted family: wife of 56 years, Arlene; daughters, Debi (Chuck) Keck and Julie (Tim) Suchodolski; grandson, Aaron Keck; brother, Jim (Audrey) Duzek; sisters, Bernice (John, deceased) Spehar, Doris (Joe, deceased) Swetich, Joy (Al) Thaler and Fay (Roy) Hoyer; extended family and friends.
Del was predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Grace (Matt) Mattson and May (James) Frantz.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 17, at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing with Rev. James E. Robinson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Del's name to Alzheimer's Association for research (envelopes provided by the funeral home) are appreciated as we must conquer this dreaded disease.
Rest in peace, Del.
The family is being served by Tiffany Funeral Home.
