Dallas, a young neutered male cat awaiting adoption, assists with a typing project. Dallas is one of the animals available for adoption through the Keweenaw Spay/Neuter Assistance group. Saturday is National Homeless Animals Day. At noon, a Dolly Daze benefit will be held at Jayne’s L&L Bar on Fifth Street in Calumet with food, music, a bake sale and duck pond game. Prizes for the duck pond include tickets for the Calumet Theatre Grand Raffle in November. More than 1,000 animals have been spayed and neutered the program, which helps reduce the number of unwanted animals in the area. For more information, call 296-9144.
