To the editor:
Simple Kindness for Youth would like to extend our most heartfelt thanks to several sponsors for the First Annual Bartenders/Hospitality Golf for Kids Event.
A very special thanks goes out to Mike Danis and Angela Pruetz, who dedicated their time and talents to organizing a successful and fun event. We would like to thank numerous business sponsors who were also essential to making the outing a success, including The Calumet Golf Club, Brownstone Hall, Computer Mechanix, Chris Peer, MD, L.L. Perry Photography, The Shelden Grill, Swift Hardware, The Waterfront, The Hut Inn, Favorite Silk Screening and Embroidery, Sew Sisters, Upper Peninsula Power Co., The Copper Harbor Trails Club, Hairsmiths, Shottle Bop, The Kaleva, The Doghouse, Keweenaw Brewing Company and The Bike Shop. These businesses recognize that investing in our youth is an investment in our future. We hope the community returns the favor by stopping by their establishments and giving them some business.
We would also like to thank all the golfers who showed up, showcased their athletic talents, had fun and hopefully won some good prizes.
As always, SKY is thankful for the support the communities of Baraga, Houghton and Keweenaw counties have given to us. With this support, we have had the capacity to give thousands of dollars in grants for students to pay for things such as baseball uniforms, graduation announcements, summer camps and many other things that can have a positive impact in a student's life.
