People keep outside beautiful

September 1, 2012
The Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

Well it's been a hot summer and we all have the same color lawns (brown). In a few months, they will be all white but since our summers are short, I would like to give a special thanks to the people who keep our grounds colorful with the flowers they provide for Chassell School.

(Thanks go to) Mary Markham and her class for starting our outdoor flowers from seed and getting them ready for planting. Also a special thanks to Cory Dompier of Keweenaw Bay as she donates 28 wave petunias for our cement pots that she starts from seed. Then she makes hanging wave petunia baskets for the faculty and staff for their homes.

It not for the generosity of these individuals, we wouldn't be able to show the beauty in colors with flowers.

As all schools are at hard times, it's nice to get a great education on the inside of the school, and with the help of these special people we can keep our outside inviting, also.
