INDIANA, Pa. - For the second day in a row the Michigan Tech volleyball team split a pair of matches at the Crimson Hawk Invitational Saturday. The Huskies dropped a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to host Indiana (Pa.) before defeating Coker 3-0.
"The weekend was a good one," said Tech coach Matt Jennings. "We were able to take away some good things, and we are definitely improving every day. We were only four points away from going 4-0."
Aubrey Havlichek led the Huskies by hitting .444, including 12 kills, in the 22-25, 25-18, 25-16, 23-25, 13-15 loss to Indiana (Pa.) She also had four blocks.
Shelby Jones finished with 10 kills and five blocks, while Jordanna Kero finished with a team-high 14 kills.
Jones had another stellar stat line against Coker, tallying 16 digs, nine kills, four aces and three blocks as the Huskies won 25-18, 25-21, 25-23.
Jacqueline Aird also had 16 digs, and Kero contributed 11 kills.
The Huskies (2-2) will play next weekend at the Black Hills State (S.D.) Tournament.
